I'm back yo

So I am so sorry for not updating in so long. See, we had to put our dog to sleep last week and it was a major family crisis. Poor girl. She fell suddenly ill and it was just awful and we miss her so much. That did not stop me, however, from making an offer on an adorable french bulldog in Seattle that I am sure I won't get but am spending an unhealthy amount of time fantisizing about.

Between dog-grieving and fantasy -dog- obsessing there hasn't been much time for blogging you see. I will say that I had a great in-person blogger meetup with Marlynn whose super cool blog I highly recommend. Her son is so adorable and has the most delicious cheeks ever. Goldita and I had a great time and would love to see them again!

Thanksgiving in Idaho was good. I ate my weight in yams and cranberry sauce and pawned my kid off as much as possible with the grandparents so we could soak our fat hairy bodies in the hot tub where said fat hairiness kept others away so the Holiday Inn pool area was just for us. It was great.

The only bummer was that my husband has sleep apnea and sleeps with a machine to prevent snoring. We forgot the machine and all I can say that between snoring and waking and earplugs and a bed that was SO NOT similar to my Sleep Number bed, no one slept. On the upside Davey got up at 5:00 am Friday since he was already awake and bought a camcorder so now we can document every coo the kid makes. Should make for a great way to bore guests out of the house who overstay their welcome.

Of ham and cider

We are busy getting ready for our early Thanksgiving dinner with our friends tommorow night. Should be fun, we have 12 or so people coming and are ready for the full spread. For those of you not in the know.....I say screw Honey Baked Ham.....the Hillshire Farms Flame Crafted ones can kick their ass up and down the street. if you beg to differ, meet me outside.

Keeping with my food you have any idea how yummy the Starbucks Carmel Apple Cider is? Ahhhh sweet nectar of life, like manna from heaven.

The milk saga continues

I am a bad bad blogger....only finding time to update a couple times a week while I am developing another website, working 3 days a week, having a cold and an infant, but here I am!!

On with the milk saga....While the Reglan is giving me much more milk, she still seems hungry. By hungry I mean that she screams after some feedings and my intuition says hunger.

What should I do? I am considering breaking down and giving her an additional feeding of.....*gasp* formula. I feel so bad, I just want her little belly full. I have this crazy goal of making it 6 months with nothing but breastmilk going in her little tum-tum, but I am starting to feel really guilty about starving the poor dear. Lot's of people give their babe's formula and I have to stop looking at it as the wretched formula of evil and be more realistic. I do have a stock of milk in the freezer, but am trying to save it for our 1 year anniversary trip to Reno that is scheduled to be Goldie-free.....what to do, what to do.......

Mama's night out

I left Goldita and the Davey to their own devices last night. I cruised down to Eugene, well, more like crept down as a 2 hour drive turned into 4 in the downpour. It was my friend Devin's birthday, she was my college roomate.

At first I was so excited to go out and party for a night with my friends, but once I stumbled back to my friends apt. I realized that the era of all night parties has passed. I just missed my husband and my baby.

Now, don't get me wrong, I will still go down to party town every once in awhile, but at least I know what I am missing. And I'd rather be at home.

If you need me....

I'll be the woman with infant poop running down the front of her shirt.

My poor Be-Birkenstocked feet were starting to get a little frio with the cold fall air, not to mention stinky from being stuck in wet birks. So I splurged and bought these little babies. A whole new world has opened up! I love love love my new clogs,I can wear them with red and black and brown and dresses and pants and weddings and and...I guess I really am an Oregonian eh?

Not to brag or anything....

But my kid is an overachiever. While other 3 month olds are calmly oogly-googley under their activity mats, my kid is screaming. You want to know why? She is cutting a tooth! At three months. Christ on a Cracker this is early. I now dose her up with gas drops, tylenol, teething tabs and oragel. At the same time. Save judgmental comments for yourself as we also give her small squares of sheet metal to chew on and stick her fingers in light sockets when she is bad.

I think I complain too much about my little sweetness. I think I complained too much about my pregnancy. Really. She is an amazingly good baby, sleeps twelve hours straight at night since 1 1/2 months (I will duck whilst you throw sharp, heavy objects at my head). She lets everyone hold her, eats like a champ and rarely cries. I really do love me some Goldie.

It's official. Goldie has her first cold. There is nothing sadder than to see the wee babe with her snotty smile followed by screaming fits of boogie-oogie popping out and sucking back into her cute nose. So far I am using the boogie-sucker, what a messed up invention that is. Goldie hates the boogie sucker with a wild and romping passion and today she actually gave me a gooey hiss when she saw it coming. Unfortunately I will have to sell her on ebay if she gives me her plague.
