The Jean Files

Those of you who know me in real life are all too familiar with the fact that I always.wear.jeans. I wear them to work, to church and funerals of people I didn't know that well. I have always felt that I should never pay more than $40 for a pair since, well, they are jeans for Chrissake and aren't all jeans alike?

As I have grown older I have realized that perhaps, just maybe, more expensive jeans might be better. So I have waged a search, far and wide (mostly wide considering my pant size) for the perfect pair, regardless of price. I talked to people, I read reviews and Seven jeans came up the winner! I went online and found a gorgeous, funky flared pair that looked just perfect. Then I waited. For two effing weeks. I think they sent them by amputee donkey.

Then today! They were here! And they were so cute! And they TOTALLY DON'T EFFING FIT. Can somebody tell me when I became a fat midget because seriously?

WTF? Also, they fit at the waist but have a really low PB (pot belly) pouch. Like nearly $100 are you kidding me? But, I will admit that my enormous ass? Totally smokin'. So, am debating whether to send them back or get them altered. I really don't want to spend any more money, but I am already in too deep. Does everything have to be hard?

jeans always have to be hard. always. get them altered, because really, if someone said, $50 extra bucks and you get a smokin' ass for today, wouldn't you pay it? i totally would. i heart jeans.

I heart jeans too, and I have to buy them via the internets because of my location - but why are you not trying them on in a regular store? You know, with all your free time. With two kids. In a dressing room. Never mind, I answered my own question.
Get them altered. I had a bunch of jeans altered when I lived in Tbilisi and the seamstress who did them was top notch and you couldn't tell they had been "hemmed".

Three words: Avenue, Denim Light.
I NEVER EVER wore jeans until I found these. And now, I wear them all the time and that's saying something here in Florihell. They're super comfy, ride just right on my waist. I'm 5'9 and buy the tall length. Hope that helps and that your ass is still smokin'

Get them altered. What's another $15 in the grand scheme of things? (At least, that's how much it would cost here in Austin.)

BTW, delicateflower has been retired. New blog is boxingoctopus.wordpress.com

I agree with getting them altered! I too...uhhh..have to find a larger size. (Looking at two kids with smirk) ..I thought Lane Bryant sold Seven jeans now too?! Well, anywho, I heart Lane Bryant. But WTF is up lately with their sizing? Some 1-5 crap..where I have to measure MYSELF? UHHH... lol Anyways, good luck!

Because I've got a big ass I would never be able to buy jeans online. No way! I only buy my jeans at Avenue. They've got a bit of stretch in them, they're cut just for plus size woman, like me, they're a bit pricier ($40-$60 pair) but they're such good quality that they last for YEARS so that makes the money worth it.

De-lurking to say, get them altered and make sure whomever you take them to will re-attach the hem at the bottom so it doesn't actually look like it was hemmed. Good luck! I found your blog from amalah I believe and you totally crack me up.

You guys and your awesome suggestions. I really should start consulting the Internet before I make life altering decisions. And Adrienne, thanks for de-lurking. You should really do it more often!
