Words
We have words! After resigning myself to the probability that Goldie would forever babble rather than speak, the little bugger has really taken off with her renditions of: Cheese, sock, shoe, baby, outside, shirt, no, no no no, and the always popular NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. It is so great to hear her communicating in such a sophisticated way.
In other developmental news....she has decided that at 17 months, it is very important how food reaches her mouth. It must be on a fork, by herself. Please do not try to steady the bowl for her, it only makes her angry and she will be forced to wrestle it with her considerable toddler might out of your hands.
Also! We have made it into the 3rd trimester, working on 30 weeks. While I am so excited to meet our new addition, I must say that pregnancy has been one cruel joke after another. The never-ending gut wrenching nausea. The insomnia. The acne. Then, when I find my will to live, I get hit with mind-numbing fatigue. I think I will try and accomplish some things today. Right after my nap.

Hooray for words! It only gets better from here (and worse, in terms of "No" and "I don't want to"). Way to go Goldie!
30 weeks! Woo hoo!
