Ok people, I am not trying to be a pussy but, in the last 6 months I think I have become a middle class freak because I am having big major issues here in Mexico. Most of you probably think I am staying at some resort on the beach when I say mexico, but I assure you I am not. I am in a big city living with real mexicans who have really hard lives.

For starters, there is no water most of the time. You do not realize how much you need water until you do not have it. The water comes once a day for about an hour in which you must fill all buckets available to use for bathing, toilet flushing, laundry etc. Some days the water just doesn{t come at all.

There is dust. And soot in the air. I have black boogers. I haven{t showered in three days (which is really not a shower, but throwing buckets of water over yourself.)

Goldie however, is having the time of her little life

It's hard getting used to a different way of life, no matter where you go or how different it is. The water thing was the same when I visited relatives in the Philippines...I almost died from whining because I love to take fully heated, looong showers! Glad little Goldie is having a great time! The sun came out for a few minutes today. Jealous? Yeah, I know you are. :-)

We have some relatives and friends from Mexico who have told us the same thing about the villages they are from. Makes ya really appreciate what we have here!

Try to have fun except for the nasty showers and black boogers! LOL

Hey, be a pussy all you want. We totally understand. I drink so much water everyday and love my showers. I can't imagine. Glad to hear Goldie is good! Have fun and be careful out there!

Hey Kirsten and Goldie,

We miss you. When are you coming home? I have presents for Goldie that if we don't get to her soon she will out grow.

Love reading your blog. Keep it up. Let me know when you are back in PDX.

Love, Jane/Nana
