Boobs! Again!

It's been a long time since I talked about my hooters. But since there aren't enough of you, I thought I would reach out to a larger audience. Things are grim in Lactation Station and so I went ahead and Asked Moxie . Man, those ladies know their shit.

I just found your blog - you are funny! Your story of Ruby's birth almost made me cry. And walking into the naptime room to the poop...goodness, I can identify with you!

OMG Your nursing situation sounds pretty similar to mine. From Day 1 I had hardly anything even with the prescription to get my flow going...all it got going was the pee-poo as my youngest likes to call diarrhea. I loved the nursing/bonding time but it was so consuming. My one nipple was slightly inverted and the babe wanted no part of a nipple shield so I ended up nursing off one side, pumping off the other and supplementing with formulas. It sucked...get it? "sucked" ha ha. I know it was lame but whatevs.
So, when Baby 2 came around I thought things would be wayyyy different and I went out and bought the fancy electric dual pumper and got myself totally excited and read up on and I had almost exactly the same results.
Kudos to you for perserving! You are one fabulous mother!

Kirsten you have done such a wonderful mummy job with both of your girls. Whatever the outcome of the next few days, you must congratulate yourself for making it this far and doing the best you can for your babies. So many have not bothered. So seriously - well done. Have a margharita! Thanks for the reference to Ask Moxie by the way - never heard of it before now!

FWIW, I nursed my daughter until 13 months before weaning her. I tried at 12 months but she just wasn't having it. In my family, 12 months was the standard age to wean. So, please don't beat yourself up about it. Obviously, Rube is telling you she's ready. Take pride in that you gave her the best for 13 months and then celebrate your freedom! (((HUGS)))

My youngest weaned himself at 13 months. Sad for me.... he could care less. I know how hard it is! Hang in there... whichever way it goes.
