Bonus

You know when the doctors and nurses all swear to you that "oh, it's just not true that immunizations make you sick, you'll be fine"? Well, they are a bunch of liars. All four of us got flu shots yesterday and I am the only one who doesn't have a fever.

Both of my girls feel like they are about to burst into flames and so I am alternating tylenol/advil every three hours. Davey just called from work to say he has a temp too. My poor babies.

Have you ever got sick from a flu shot?

yes -- 7 years in a row. Might have something to do with not having lymphnodes in the upper part of my body. Supposedly, if I get the flu shot in my ass i will be ok.

Not that interested in it to do that!

I don't do flu vacs on me or our kids but I was told to do one when pregnant once so I reluctantly did and yes I got sick and my arm was so sore that I felt like I couldn't lift the thing. So yes you are right, and they are liars. lol

My story is the same as sabrina - when I was preg they recommended it so I got the flu shot and within an hour I could hardly use my arm and then ended up with really sick.
I haven't had a flu shot since and rarely get sick so I'm just taking my chances now.
Hope your fam feels better soon!

Yes, we've gotten sick from flu shots before!

My doc did not recommend me to get a flu shot while pregnant due to the possible risk of vaccines and Autism. Since I have one son who is Autistic already, my chances of having another ASD child are increased.

My sons will not receive flu shots for the above mentioned reason. Yes, I get them vaccinated, but the flu shot is the only vaccine that still has Thimerosal in it. No thanks.

(Eeep...sorry! I'll get off my soapbox now!)

That is such a bummer! I hope the fam feels better soon! (Knocking on wood here) I've had a flu shot every year for the past 7 yrs (including last year when I was pregnant) and have never had a problem. I'll be getting Clara a flu shot in the next week or so (we have thimerosal-free flu vaccines here in Cali for kids and pregnant women), so wish us luck!
